Bhavana - Meditations on the Shiva Sutras
Starting June 10th
“These meditations are called bhāvanā in the Tantric tradition -- that is, contemplative meditations where carefully selected words are used to guide the practitioner beyond the thinking mind into the revelatory experiential space” ~ Hareesh Wallis
The Sutras
Hareesh will guide you through 5 meditative contemplations based on Shiva Sutras 1, 5, 13, 14, and 17.
Please allow at least 15 minutes for each contemplation, finding a comfortable seat and a quiet space. All of the meditations are downloadable.
The Practices
Day 1 ~ How do we become aware of awareness itself and immerse in the simple sense of our own existence? The first meditation will guide us there.
Day 2 ~ We practice resting our awareness in the space before we label our feelings. In this practice, we pay attention to the arising of each new energy state and stay with it as a pure expression of our own being-ness.
Day 3 ~ In the third practice, we sit with the spontaneous movement of the heart that we call the Power of will, the movement of curiosity, openness, and love. We rest in this space.
Day 4 ~ In Sutra 14 the contemplation is that Everything in our field of perception is a vibration of awareness. In this practice, we make the intuitive leap to experiencing this, without even needing to understand it.
Day 5 ~ Wordless reflection leads to insight into the nature of the self. So how could a meditative contemplation using words help? The words can take you right to the edge of wordless reflection and drop you off there! This contemplation will close out our short time together.
